The Roman Catholic Church promotes itself as the 'Mother Church' of all religions with the word 'catholic' apparently meaning 'universal'. The bishops, priests and pope of the Roman Catholic Church wear a hat called a 'Mitre' which is very similar to the Greek word for 'mother' (meter). The mitre hat is also known as the fish hat which was worn by the Dagon priests of Babylonian times. The deity Dagon was also worshipped by the Philistines.
