The higher powers

Let every soul be subject to the higher powers of God. The Greek word for 'higher' in this verse is 'huperecho'. The Greek word for 'powers' in this verse is 'exousia'. It speaks to the higher powers of God and His divine law. There is no higher authority than this. Christ has been given all power and all authority over heaven, earth and He has the keys to death and hell and has power over the second death. Christ sits at the right hand of the Father.

The enemies of Christ

In Ephesians 6:12 Paul writes: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The Greek word for 'powers' in this verse is also 'exousia'. This speaks to spiritual powers in high places that are opposed to being made subject to Christ. And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD (The Father) said unto my Lord (Jesus Christ), Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies thy footstool. Luke 20:42-43.

The power & authority of the dragon

In Luke 4:5-7 we read that the dragon, whilst trying to determine if Jesus is the Son of God tempts him with an offer of great earthly power: And the devil taking him (Jesus) up into an high mountain, showed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to him, "all this power will I give you, and the glory of them; for that is delivered to me, and to whomsoever I will, I give it. If therefore you will worship me, all shall be yours."

In Revelation 13:2 And the beast which I saw, was like unto a Leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a Bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a Lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. The Greek word 'exousia' is also used here for authority. Here we read of the earthly power of the dragon is set up in opposition to the power and authority of Christ, but who took up the offer of the dragon? The clue being in Luke 4:7, that they must worship the dragon.

The power & authority of Christ's word

And Jesus came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the Sabbath days. And they were astonished at his teaching for his word was with power. Luke 4:31-32.

And they were all amazed, and talked among themselves saying, "What a word is this? for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out. Luke 4:36.

Christ speaking to hierarchies

When His disciples were arguing among themselves as to who was the greatest, Jesus said, "he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that does serve." Jesus himself was among them as a servant. Luke 22:24-27.

Who is every soul to be subject to?

Are they earthly powers or heavenly powers? Earthly authorities or heavenly authorities? Who is every soul to be subject to? The answer to whom these powers Paul is referring to is found in 1 Peter 3:22 where the Greek word 'exousia' is translated as 'authorities'. Jesus Christ Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. 1 Peter 3:22

We can determine from this verse that the angels of God, and the heavenly powers, and authorities were made subject to Christ when he went to the Father after his victory over the devils temptations and triumphant reserrection having the keys to hell and death. The devil and his angels being opposed to Christ's authority are found guilty of the plot to destroy the Son of God, and were cast out of heaven down to earth and their place in heaven was found no more. See Revelation 12:7-9.

And he said unto them, "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven." Luke 10:18.

Satan and his followers did not know that Jesus was the Son of God as we read: Which none of the princes (rulers) of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2:8.

Simple Reduction

If every soul submitted themselves to Christ's authority then the earthly heirachical systems of men from monarchies, religions, secret societies, military and governments would be dissolved. Everyone would be servants of God and to each other just as Christ. We should pray for those who assume authority over men, and those who oppose the authority of Christ.

Then cometh the end, when He (Jesus Christ) shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 1 Corinthians 15:24.

Once again the word used for 'authority' in this verse is 'exousia' and is speaking to the earthly power and authority set up by the dragon, and all those who worship him.

Be ready at any hour

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. Mark 13:33-37.

Thy will be done - God's plan of salvation

Ultimately it is about every soul submitting to doing God's will on earth as it is done in heaven as Jesus said in the Lord's prayer. What is God's will for us? At the foundation it is about keeping God's commandments and having the testimony of Jesus Christ. When asked what is the greatest law, Jesus answered saying, love the Lord thy God with all you heart, mind and soul and love thy neighbour as thy self. It is about spreading the Gospel (the good news) that Jesus Christ died for our sins and was ressurected from the dead and all those who believe on him will to be resurected into eternal life.

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Revelation 22:14-15.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6.

GOVERNMENT
Derived from the Latin verb Guverno, Guvernare meaning 'To Control', and the Latin noun Mens, Mentis meaning 'Mind'
To Control The Mind Latin being the dead language of Rome. Jesus Christ is all about free will, and setting free the minds taken captive by the mind controllers.
